It was good for a first project

Nice first project. A couple suggestions:
1. file size. This should NOT be 4.7 meg... you probably didn't trim and/or optimize your audio... people vote lower on huge file size, short length movies... this probably cost you .5 or more on your movie's rating.

2. You charachters were nice, you just need to have some story... What/Where/Who is Nordon. Why is the guy killing whatever the green things are? You could probably have animated a more significant story.

He's gay!

The style does work very well. It was a bit slow given not much more than a guy running was happeneing but it was still entertaining. The fact that the lip sync was on helped a lot. You should really buckle down with this style for your charachters and develop a decently long story. This is a uniquish style that looks like it works well for you. I coudl have seen this movie as only an intro for somethign longer.
Fine piece.

Good movie

I really liek this one by you, definately some tell tale signs of greater improvement. I really expected the blue guy to get beat down by the red fellows so the ending surprised me a bit in its suddeness. I think that sort of ending would have more posibilities for humor. But the surprise was fine as well.
Nice work.

wallpaperman responds:

thanks man, the original ending was a suicide bomber running in jumping on the whistler and exploding, but due to... technical difficulties (me being lazy) that could not happen :/

Nice work

This is a nice little bit of cartooning you've done, great for a first attempt. I liked how you were able to animate significant action scenes without having to draw really complex charachter movements.

You made a real nice charachter there for the hero.
Thanks for sharing your work.

Quite a decent lock movie

Its clear you have some sense of how to actually have a plot/story in your movie, even if it really is very dialog driven. It has a bit of maturity many other movies do not have in terms of pacing dialog.
It did sound like there was some sort of beeping noise when eggplant was talking, that or my hearing and/or computer are going to hell.

Dragon-Lock responds:

Thanks for the review. Ya, the voice of aubergine (the eggplant lock) was very bass in pitch it other flash it's appeared in. I had worried that it wouldn't be audible. As for the beeping, i'll listen to it again and modify the wav file if the beeping is too intrusive. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

My next lock movie will probably be more action based rather than dialoge based so i can get the movement to coincide with the audio I select for it. It should be a lot of fun to make.

Thanks!

Not too bad

You gave this entry a 5, raising its score to 1.92!
You're the saviour! You are one of a number of people who have helped keep this entry in the Portal!
SWEET, I lost a blam point trying to save the original version. I love that little movie.
Boy it would have really good with just a bit more time. The ninja running in and out of the trees would have been a nice effect. I was confused too about the fact the ninja at one point confronts several enemies yet when you zoom out he is only fighting one and two others are never fought before the moose happens. You do good work, a bit more focus on quality over quantity and you'd really be putting out some great stuff.

wallpaperman responds:

one of the very few people who writes good reviews XD

thanks

Wow, very bleak

Such a dark picture of what the future could hold. I hope this movie stands as a warning for those to come so your vision is a preventable rather than certain future. Very good choice for music, it set the tone well and made the movie.

robototron responds:

thanks! very encouraging!

Swwet Adaptation

I sincerely hope this got you a decent grade, it was a very well done and complete production. I like what you did with the translated shapespearian dialog, and the effects you used to keep the dialog visually interesting. Fine job!

TheMaskedOutcast responds:

thanx, this review makes it seem like you actually care, and those are the best reviews... and if i dont get a good grade, i'll castrate my damn teacher.

nice collection

Nice collection of your films. All the films were a nice diverse take n the theme of childhood scarring (though the thrid film's humor made it almost more disturbing that the first film.) This seems like it will be a long term collaboration, you guys have the quality to keep providing some good stuff as a group. Thanks for sharing your work with us.
Be kind to the audio artist-- list them as an audio credit.

Freetospeak responds:

Thank you very much turbosquad!

Ps: 0wnz4r: Yeah, but it's what scared me.

WOW

This is the best clay I've seen on newgrounds. Better in my mind that Knox's. Your figures were detailed and required nice sculpting, you told a story, and the frame rate was nice and high. The draw backs were the voices (I understand the use of French) but the volume varied, and your spelling on the introduction (this leaves a HORRIBLE first impression of your film!). The score of 1.66 I saw was just wrong. I hope this clears judgement, it more than deserves it.

orb responds:

Thank you so much, I was wondering if anyone thought the grade was strange. Here's what happened, I submitted my flash at like 1 in the morning when I had just made the text really fast (the planet misspelling is cause planet is planète in french). I within 15 seconds voted 4 for it (I thought it was a decent score) and it said I had raised it to .18. Now that means ppl came on and voted 0 w/o watching it. What the heck is that? I just don't understand those people. Well thank you dude
